Dental Implant Cost in Ireland: What Affects the Price

Dental Implant Cost in Ireland: What Affects the Price

“How much is a dental implant?” is the question we are asked most often. The honest answer is that it depends, and understanding why helps you compare quotes fairly.

What affects the cost of a dental implant?

  • The number of teeth being replaced. One tooth is very different to a full arch.
  • Preparation. Some patients need gum treatment or a bone graft before an implant can be placed.
  • Imaging and planning. A scan is used to plan the position of the implant.
  • The final tooth. A single crown, a bridge on implants and a denture on implants are different pieces of work.
  • The materials and laboratory work.

Why we do not quote a price over the phone

Two people can ask for “an implant” and need very different treatment. A price quoted without examining you would be a guess. That is why we start with a consultation.

What should a treatment plan include?

A good written plan sets out:

  1. What is being done, and in what order
  2. The number of visits and a realistic timeline
  3. The full cost, including the final crown and any preparation
  4. What follow-up care is recommended

You are free to take the plan away and think about it.

Are there alternatives?

Yes. A dental bridge or denture may suit some patients. Read our comparison of implants, bridges and dentures.

Payment and insurance

Some patients can claim part of the cost through health insurance or tax relief on medical expenses. Ask the team to talk through what may apply to you.
